Augmented Reality Sound Mobile App for the Hearing Impaired
Focusing on user-centred design, this research project explores the concept of a mobile application to enhance perception for people with mild-to-moderate hearing impairment. The application compensates for the loss of hearing by enabling an enhanced visual information experience that is achieved through identifying sound type, frequency and location. The app prototype demonstrates using modern web-languages for desktop & mobile browsers. The user requirements were specified in collaboration with people with hearing impairment and health experts.
