An accessible museum guide app.
For my final year project, I decided to design an application that allows people affected by visual impairments to experience art through sound. I first discovered the field of audio descriptions through a friend who was studying to become a translator, and it fascinated me straight away. I thought it would be great if there was a platform where all the work being done in aid of people with VIs could be collected and accessed easily. I have always been an art lover myself and I think it’s important that everyone has a chance of experiencing it. Whilst working on this project I met so many amazing individuals who were happy to share with me their experiences with technology as partially sighted users, and it was really inspiring to hear how my app could truly benefit people’s lives.
